About Me
About Me
From a very early age, I had little confidence in communicating with adults or anyone I didn’t know. At school my efforts were acceptable but I certainly didn’t excel in any subjects. I passed my exams, but only just. I worked in retail upon leaving school. I later got married, had three daughters and didn’t work during their early years. Upon the youngest starting school, I decided I would return to education. I completed 2 years of computer studies, all alien to me as my generation used paper, pencils and libraries. I went on to study hairdressing and successfully completed a Further and Adult Education Teaching qualification. Alongside teaching in my local college, I was also an English Support assistant, identifying and supporting those with learning disabilities. Many years on, I’m doing the work that really is my passion, being a Funeral Celebrant. To support people through one of the most difficult times of their lives, preparing and delivering the perfect service for their loved one is an honour and privilege. To be trusted with that huge responsibility is a very heart-warming feeling. I hold a diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling, this too is hugely rewarding. I’m a great animal lover and caring for my rather large collection of pets is a wonderful part of my life.
Below are a selection of services I have been honoured to lead, each accompanied by the heartfelt and beautifully crafted tributes shared on the day.
